Jenette Jurczyk is a business development and marketing consultant, with expertise in interview coaching and speech and presentation skills. She received a BFA in Theater from the University of Illinois in 1996 and returned for her MBA in 2013. She grew up on the east coast and has lived and worked in New York and Los Angeles as a performer, director, writer and producer, among other things. She returned to Champaign in 2009, where she resides with her rocket scientist husband and two adorable and feisty daughters.
With a background in theatre and a resume full of property management and business experience, Jenette set out to create fun, interactive training experiences for everyone from executive teams and interns to student groups and non-profit boards.
“Whenever you are in front of one or more people and you are speaking, you are in fact, performing. Why not use the same tools and techniques that actors use to warm up your instrument and feel prepared and confident every time all eyes are on you?”
Jenette is the National Director of The She Said Project and produces and directs women’s storytelling events called “That’s What She Said.” She loves working with women to find and own their personal stories and prepare them as performance pieces to share with an audience.
Through The She Said Project, Jenette also developed an empowerment program for girls called “That’s What Teens Say,” runs The Shoe Said Project shoe drive and is the co-host of The She Said Project Podcast, supported by NPR and Illinois Public Media.
